The duo Oud Immortel and Accord Oud are inspired by the oud. A wood which, due to its use in the manufacture of traditional incense and perfumes, is of great cultural importance. Its existence was recorded in one of the oldest written texts in the world, The Veda, a sacred Indian work. When the originally light heartwood of the Aquilaria tree is infected by a certain mold, it protects itself by saturating its heart with a dark and very fragrant resin. This dark wood, called oud or agarwood, contains a complex fragrance, unmatched by few, if any, natural ingredients.
