Frequently asked questions

Ordering

Are your perfumes authentic?

Yes, without exception. Every bottle is new, sealed and delivered in its original box with its labels and traceability codes. We source from official channels and authorised partners. Should a defect of authenticity be found, we would refund you in full. Our authenticity guarantee sets out our commitments.

Are the displayed prices final?

Yes. Prices are shown inclusive of tax. Dreams Fragrance operates under the French VAT exemption scheme (art. 293 B of the French Tax Code): no tax is added at checkout and nothing will be charged on delivery.

Which payment methods do you accept?

Visa, Mastercard, American Express, PayPal and Google Pay. Payment is encrypted and handled by our payment provider; we never have access to your card details.

Can I get advice before buying?

Yes, and we would rather you did. Write to contact@dreamsfragrance.com or call +33 7 45 05 81 16, Monday to Saturday, 9am to 6pm (Paris time). We answer ourselves, based on what you already wear and what you are looking for.

Shipping

Where do you ship, and at what cost?

Shipping is free, with no minimum order, to France and the European countries listed in our shipping policy. For destinations outside the European Union we ship duties and taxes paid where the service is available, so that the amount you pay is the final amount.

How long does delivery take?

Your order is prepared within 1 to 2 working days, then delivered in 4 to 8 working days depending on the destination, 5 to 10 working days in total. A tracking number is emailed to you as soon as the parcel leaves.

How are the bottles packed?

Every bottle travels in its original box, wedged inside protective packaging. Should a parcel arrive damaged, contact us on receipt with photos: we take care of the return and the replacement.

Returns and exchanges

Can I return a perfume?

Yes, within 14 days of receipt, provided the bottle has not been opened and the seal is intact. For hygiene reasons specific to fragrance, a bottle that has been unsealed, tested or used cannot be taken back or exchanged.

Do I pay for the return?

No. On request by email, we send you a prepaid return label. The refund is made to the original payment method within 14 days of receipt and inspection of the product. Details are in our returns policy.

The bottle or box I received differs from the photo?

Houses update their boxes, graphics and bottle shapes without notice. These variations are normal and affect neither authenticity nor composition. If in doubt, send us a photo: we will check it with you.

Understanding a perfume

Parfum, extrait, eau de parfum, eau de toilette: what is the difference?

It all comes down to the concentration of fragrance materials. Extrait (or parfum) contains 20 to 40% and lasts more than eight hours; eau de parfum, 15 to 20%, offers the best balance between projection and longevity; eau de toilette, 5 to 15%, is lighter and suits everyday wear. Most creations in our selection are eaux de parfum or extraits.

What is the olfactory pyramid?

It is how a perfume evolves over time: fleeting top notes give the first impression; heart notes, after a few minutes, carry the character; base notes stay on the skin for hours. Every product page details these three levels.

Why does the same perfume smell different on different people?

Skin pH, hydration, diet and body temperature all change the way molecules develop. That is why a perfume should be judged on your own skin, after an hour, not on a paper strip.

How can I make my perfume last longer?

Apply it to moisturised skin on pulse points (wrists, neck, behind the ears), without rubbing. Keep the bottle in its box, away from light, heat and humidity: stored properly, a perfume keeps its qualities for three to five years.

What is niche perfumery or haute parfumerie?

Houses that favour the perfumer's creative freedom, rarer raw materials and selective distribution, as opposed to the large launches of mainstream perfumery. It is the only world we offer.
